DIVISION 6 <br />WOOD AND PLASTICS <br />06110 - ROUGH CARPENTRY <br />P. <br />Install metal diagonal bracing straps from floor to floor at building <br />corners and at 60'-0" o.c. Top plate diagonally down at 45 degree angle <br />to bottom plate. <br />Q. <br />Roof framing with rafters. See Section 06170 - Prefabricated Wood <br />Trusses. <br />R. <br />Stairs framing shall be well spiked together. Rough carriages shall be <br />cut to exact shape as required to receive finish treads and risers. <br />S. <br />Provide nailers nailingtrips, grounds, and blocking as necessary and <br />rigidly secure in place for attachment of plumbing and/or electrical <br />fixtures and equipment, cabinets, door stop plates, trim and other fixed <br />equipment and work. <br />T. <br />Provide furring strips at locations shown on the plans. Install at 16" <br />o.c., unless otherwise noted, butt jointed and rigidly secured. <br />U. <br />Nail subflooring 6" o.c. at edges of panels, and 10" o.c. at intermediate <br />supports. Glue plywood to supports, complying with APS Specification AFG- <br />01, <br />V. Mail resilient flooring underlayment 6* o.c, at edges of panels, and 8" <br />o.c. at intermediate field. Glue underlayment to sub n oor. <br />W. Install 150 felt sheathing paper at all exterior walls over exterior <br />gypsum board sheathing. Lap all edges and ends a minimum of two inches. <br />X. Installation of wood siding: <br />5264 <br />1. Prior to application of siding, all substrate work shall <br />be completed, <br />i.e. sheathing, window/door installation, flashing, and felt paper, <br />trim boards. Siding shall not be applied over areas where sheathing <br />and/or felt paper has been damaged. <br />2. Install material per manufacturer's printed instructions, <br />3, Horizontal Siding: <br />a. Start siding at base by first applying a continuous 1 <br />x 2 treated <br />furring strip. <br />b. Apply siding with an 6" exposed face. Nails shall be <br />spaced at a <br />maximum of 24" o.c. and not more than 4" at each end. <br />Nails shall <br />penetrate through the na i i -holding base and into the <br />framing <br />member not less than 1". The nails should just clear <br />the thin <br />edge of the underlaying piece. <br />c. Ends and butt joints to occur over framing member, <br />SECTION 06110 -6- <br />1 <br />
