DIVISION 6 <br />WOOD AND PLASTICS <br />06110 - ROUGH CARPENTRY <br />2. All other <br />interior studs <br />shall be 2 x 41s, 2 x 61s, or 2 x 8's as <br />noted; <br />24" o.c. <br />3. Double <br />studs at openings <br />and construct partition corners of not less <br />than 3 <br />full members. <br />4. Walls <br />and bearing partitions shall have double top plate, same size as <br />stud. <br />Splices to be for <br />a minimum of 48". Lap double plates at <br />corner <br />and intersections <br />a minimum of 48". <br />H. Use full length material in all conditions. No splices wherever possible. <br />I. <br />Provide fireblocking of walls over 8' in height. Block stud wall spaces <br />and furring solid with 2" material at top, mid -height and bottom. Provide <br />fire stops in accordance with UBC. Cut -in blocks wherever necessary for <br />bracing or backing for applied finish or fixtures. Cut -in 2" solid <br />blocking between studs at all horizontal joints in nonstructural plywood <br />wall sheathingy. Install 2" x 3" bridging at 8'-9" maximum at floor or <br />roof joists over 8" in depth. Drive up and nail bottom ends of bridging <br />after floor or roof sheathing is installed. Approved metal cross bridging <br />may be used in lieu of 2" X 3" bridging. <br />J. <br />Blocking shall also be provided as necessary for the application of <br />siding, sheathing, wallboard, subflooring and other items. <br />X. <br />Laminated headers and beams are to be installed per mano- facturers <br />directions. All other headers are to be nailed together solidly. All <br />be framed to the <br />headers in bearing walls and/or exterior walls are to out <br />full width of the supporting stud. Maximum spacing to be 48" o.c., but no <br />more than 12" from corners and all splices. <br />N <br />Framing joist into the wide of wood beams shall be done with steel joist <br />. <br />hangers in addition toe nail and end nail to beam wherever possible. <br />0. <br />When framing over girders and bearing partitions, joists may be butted <br />together over the center bearing, provided joists are tied together, or <br />joists may be lapped and nailed together.
