DIVISION 6 <br />WOODS AND PLASTICS <br />06170 - PREFABRICATED WOOD TRUSSES <br />1. GENERAL <br />A. <br />The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, and appliances <br />necessary to the design and complete fabrication, delivery and placing of <br />all prefabricated, light -metal plate - connected wood floor and roof <br />trusses. All miscellaneous related items of hardware and metal shapes <br />required for assembly, supporting and anchoring shall be shown on the <br />drawings and as specified in accordance with provisions of the Contract <br />Documents, and completely coordinated with that of all other trades. <br />B. <br />Although such work is not specifically shown or specified, all <br />supplementary or miscellaneous items, appurtenances and devices incidental <br />to or necessary for a sound, secure and complete installation shall be <br />furnished and installed as part of this work. <br />2. <br />SUBMITTALS <br />A. <br />Furnish shop drawings for all material furnished under this section for <br />Architects approval. <br />B. <br />Shop drawings shall indicate the loading combinations computed and shall <br />be certified by a Structural Engineer, duly registered in the State of <br />Minnesota. <br />C. <br />Design requirements for local and state codes: <br />1. Maximum allowable design stresses shall be those listed in the <br />"National <br />Design Specification for Stress Grade Lumber and its <br />Fastenings." Recommended by the National Lumber Manufacturers <br />Association. <br />2. Drawings and computations shall contain the following data: <br />a. The pitch and span of the truss. <br />b. The design loading and its application to the unit. <br />c. Force analysis showing the stress in each member. <br />d. The nominal lumber size, species and grade of each member of the <br />truss. <br />e. Load duration factor. <br />f. Specifications for the type of connector plate used, such as the <br />gage, number of teeth or nails per square inch and nails if <br />required to be used with the plate. <br />g. The size and location of each plate at each joint. <br />h. The amount, size and location of any bracing and/or bridging <br />required. <br />i. The length of bearing required. <br />j.
