(4) <br />ti <br />V. Building Layout <br />Attached is a sketch of how we would propose to use the facilities. The following is a <br />list of proposed space usage: <br />1. Band Room (Roseville Community'Bands - This would save approximately $4,000 in <br />rental from using school). <br />2. Community Room (To .be used by teens, senior citizens, outside groups.) <br />3. Teen Center (Lounge area with games and relaxation space) <br />4. Child Care Room (For use by participants of center). <br />5. Kids Corner (Pre School activity room) <br />6. Art room (For use with classes as well as hourly studio rental). <br />7. Two activity and meeting rooms (various meetings, Tap and Ballet, 'club meetings, etc <br />8. Concession/Kitchen area (For use with events throughout entire building). <br />9. Gymnasium (Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, Gym Hockey, Tennis, Badminton, opera play.) <br />10. Exercise studio (exercise classes) <br />11.-Fitness Room (weight machine and exercycles - no free weights) <br />12. Administrative offices <br />13. Storage <br />14. Locker rooms <br />VI. Proposed Park <br />Attached is a general schematic of the attached land that we would propose as a <br />-'(hood and community park area. The following is a list of proposed amenities: <br />e <br />1. Play area - This would be used by the neighborhood as well as children involved in <br />activities at the Center. <br />2. Two Tennis courts - We will be proposing to eliminate the two courts nea,- the Nature <br />Center for the construction of an Interpretive Center. <br />3. Gazebo - This could be used as a relaxation center, small picnic area or for special <br />ceremonies. <br />4. Pathways - These would connect park to roadways to the Center to the new housing develop <br />ment. <br />5. Open space <br />VII. Summary <br />It is the opinion of the Parks and Recreation Staff that the acquisition of the proposed <br />Concordia Academy site as a Community/Recreation Center and park site would be of tremendous, <br />benefit to the citizens of Roseville well into the 21st century. We believe it is the <br />most economical and realistic means to provide these needed benefits for our citizens. <br />
