The following work is going forwards Nursing Services. Direct personal care is being provided to all resi- dents of the Care Center, both intermediate and skilled levels, in full compliance with Department of Health regulations. These services are provided by dedicated personnel including Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical nurses, therapists, and nursing assistants. In so far as is possible these personnel are recruited from among our congre- gational members. inservice Training. Orientation and growth in vocational skills is a continuing concern and an important activity. A certain amount of training is required by state regulations. Lyngblomsten's program goes beyond the requirements. Volunteer Services. Organized and scheduled in detail, the program of helpful assistance In a wide range of services has grown steadily and brings to the Lyngbiomsten program one of the EXTRAORDINARY elements of health care which translates Into love in action. Lyngbiomsten Auxiliary. This well organized, active organization draws upon the membership of corporation churches and has achieved an enviable record of participa- tion and support of basic objectives of the home. Major fund raising projects have been accom- plished, including the spending of more than $20,000 dit:ing the past year for major redeco- rating and refurbishing in the Care Center. Social Services. Professional staff personnel deal in depth with residents from the tune when they apply for admission, through the admission and orienta- tion process, and continuing to assist with prob- lems related directly to their well being through- out their residency. Activities A fully trained professional staff of activities workers is engaged in providing all residents with opportunities for social, recreational. handcraft, entertainment, and other planned uses of lelsure time. Chaplaincy. The role of chaplaincy at a hcalth care facility is direct and intimate, deeply appreciated, and cen- tral to the purpose for which we exist as a church - related institution. Housekeeping / Laundry. The volume of work which is channeled to this department is immense by any standards which a normal family is likely to experience. Its role is im- portant for the well-being good health, and con- tentment of residents. Maintenance/Physical Plant. The work of this department is reflected in the at- tractive surroundings, the well kept and soundly maintained facilities, and in innumerable extra .'chores" which fall to those available and pos- sessing of both talent and equipment. Community Senior Center. Utilization of the original Lyngbiomsten facility as a center for elderly residents of the area has open- ed a vast new potential for needed ministry. Ac- cessibility, wide range of programming, and ade- quacy of the space have registered favorably with the public officials with responsibility for such wc ; k. Lyngbiomsten Apartments. Rental facility for moderate Income residents, with federal subsidy for those who qualify, enables persons to live independently longer than would be possible without such a facility. The program Includes the serving of a noontime meal daily, an Important benefit for those who would otherwise be alone. Administration. Those functions which relate to all departments and involve both Internal and e-ternal affairs are administrative.
