The following work is going forwards <br />Nursing Services. <br />Direct personal care is being provided to all resi- <br />dents of the Care Center, both intermediate and <br />skilled levels, in full compliance with Department <br />of Health regulations. These services are provided <br />by dedicated personnel including Registered <br />Nurses, Licensed Practical nurses, therapists, and <br />nursing assistants. In so far as is possible these <br />personnel are recruited from among our congre- <br />gational members. <br />inservice Training. <br />Orientation and growth in vocational skills is a <br />continuing concern and an important activity. A <br />certain amount of training is required by state <br />regulations. Lyngblomsten's program goes <br />beyond the requirements. <br />Volunteer Services. <br />Organized and scheduled in detail, the program of <br />helpful assistance In a wide range of services has <br />grown steadily and brings to the Lyngbiomsten <br />program one of the EXTRAORDINARY elements of <br />health care which translates Into love in action. <br />Lyngbiomsten Auxiliary. <br />This well organized, active organization draws <br />upon the membership of corporation churches <br />and has achieved an enviable record of participa- <br />tion and support of basic objectives of the home. <br />Major fund raising projects have been accom- <br />plished, including the spending of more than <br />$20,000 dit:ing the past year for major redeco- <br />rating and refurbishing in the Care Center. <br />Social Services. <br />Professional staff personnel deal in depth with <br />residents from the tune when they apply for <br />admission, through the admission and orienta- <br />tion process, and continuing to assist with prob- <br />lems related directly to their well being through- <br />out their residency. <br />Activities <br />A fully trained professional staff of activities <br />workers is engaged in providing all residents with <br />opportunities for social, recreational. handcraft, <br />entertainment, and other planned uses of lelsure <br />time. <br />Chaplaincy. <br />The role of chaplaincy at a hcalth care facility is <br />direct and intimate, deeply appreciated, and cen- <br />tral to the purpose for which we exist as a church - <br />related institution. Worship opportunities a,e of- <br />fered with regularity in a variety of ways. <br />Food Service. <br />Mealtime is a central focus for most residents <br />three times cacti day. Its role is im- <br />portant for the well-being good health, and con- <br />tentment of residents. <br />Maintenance/Physical Plant. <br />The work of this department is reflected in the at- <br />tractive surroundings, the well kept and soundly <br />maintained facilities, and in innumerable extra <br />.'chores" which fall to those available and pos- <br />sessing of both talent and equipment. <br />Community Senior Center. <br />Utilization of the original Lyngbiomsten facility as <br />a center for elderly residents of the area has open- <br />ed a vast new potential for needed ministry. Ac- <br />cessibility, wide range of programming, and ade- <br />quacy of the space have registered favorably with <br />the public officials with responsibility for such <br />wc ; k. <br />Lyngbiomsten Apartments. <br />Rental facility for moderate Income residents, <br />with federal subsidy for those who qualify, enables <br />persons to live independently longer than would <br />be possible without such a facility. The program <br />Includes the serving of a noontime meal daily, an <br />Important benefit for those who would otherwise <br />be alone. <br />Administration. <br />Those functions which relate to all departments <br />and involve both Internal and e-ternal affairs are <br />administrative.
