1
as a primary metal. Process activities are more fully
described in attachment 9.
2.27 Tanks. The following tanks will be used to store
incoming bulk waste liquids and low solid sludges. The
available storage tanks, along with their intended use
and maximum volume, are as follows:
(a) Acid Waste Water - Acidic wastes, including
plating baths, heavy metal containing solutions,
and stripper solutions. Maximum volume of 20,000
gallons.
(b) Oily Waste Water - Oily water, including
emulsions. Maximum volume of 10,000 gallons for
each of three tanks.
(c) Alkali Waste Water - Alkaline wastes, including
sulfide and metal hyroxide low solids sludges.
Maximum volume 20,000.
(d) Cyanide Waste Water - Cyanide wastes, including
plating baths. Maximum volume of 10,000 gallons.
'
(e) Chrome Waste Water - Chrome wastes, including
plating baths. Maximum volume of 20,000 gallons
for each of two tanks.
(f) Mixed Metals Sludge - Low solids mixed metal
hydroxide solutions. Maximum volume of 10,000
gallons.
The tanks will be .located in the storage and treatment
area with containment consisting of concrete floor
surfaces, containment berms, and spill -control trenches
with direct discharge to spill containment tank stamps.
Tank materials will consist of carbon steel, fiber
glass reinforced plastic, or plasti-steel, which can be
safely used for the storage and treatment of hazardous
and nonhazardous industrial wastes. The tank material
will be selected for its strength and compatibility
with the material which it will contain.
2.28 Operating Records. The Operator will develop and
maintain considerable information pertaining to: all
hazardous waste accepted, treated, and stored at the
Facility; waste processing and storage activities;
waste generation, storage and transshipment; quality
control processing, and customer and personnel matters.
These records will be used to document and manage
operations at the Facility, as well as to maintain
compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory
requirements.
10.
