tTrucks will proceed to the designated unloading area.
Prior to actual unloading, the Facility Operator will
review the current tank storage record and will fit
determine that the contents of any tank truck
into the tank intended for utilization. Attachment 6 indicates the location of the
bulk tanker transfer dock area.
This area is comprised of reinforced concrete and
asphalt base, with spill control curbings which serve
to contain all leaks or discharges. A trough will be
constructed across the loading dock containment area to
collect any spilled materials. Any material
accidentally spilled during loading/unloading
operations will ' , contained internally and pumped to
appropriate tank —
The roadway and parking area containment base will be
sloped away from the truck loading dock. The truck
unloading area will be covered to prevent precipitation
from mixing with a spill before it can be cleaned up.
Any spills from a truck frgcalrstaff ofwill
thee
cleaned up immediately and echn
Facility will be notified.
If a large volume of material is spilled, the liquid
would be recovered by on site vacuum pumping equipment
and discharged to the tank designated for that waste.
Any remaining material and small spills will be
absorbed by a bentonite clay absorbant. This will be
done by an operator wearing appropriate protective
equipment. The spent absorbant will be shoveled into
drums. The absorbant, shovel, protective equipment and
drums will be kept in the unloading area and cleanup
drums will be tested and stored as waste. The
technical director and chief operator will oversee the
cleanup operation and the technical director will
inspect the area to insure thoroughness. Tests will be
performed as necessary to ensure the elimination of all
residue.
3.20 Precautions for Incompatible Wastes.
