REVIEWED/RECOMMENDS: <br />i <br />ordinance by adding health clubs, physical culture, and healt94- <br />servi s as a permitted use in t1in T-1 <br />zoning district. <br />f <br />Mr. Roberts' request is to amend the ordinance by adding health clubs as a permitted <br />use in the I-1 zoning district. The Planning Commission at its October 6th meeting <br />unaimously recommended.approval of an amendment to the zoning ordinance by adding <br />health clubs, physical culture, and health services as a special use in the I-1 <br />district. <br />The primary reason for recommending that the use be added as a special permit was <br />that the Commission concluded that some of the existing industrial buildings may <br />not have sufficient parking to meet the needs of a health club. The special use <br />requirement would provide an opportunity for the Planning Commission and Council <br />Y, <br />to review the parking, needs. <br />Attached is the Planner's report. <br />Council Action Requested: Motion approving/denying Donald _Roberts' request to <br />amend the zoning ordinance by adding health clubs, <br />physical culture, and health .services as a permitted <br />use in the I-1 (light industrial) zoning district. <br />The Council may wish to designate the use as a special <br />use as recommended by the Planning, Commission. <br />r <br />
