rum
To: STEVE SARKOLY
From: RICK JOPKE
Subject: NATIONAL CAMERA EXCHANGE REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL SIGNAGE
AT THE ROSEDALE MARKETPLACE SHOPPING CENTER
Date: APRIL 15, 1997
Community Development Staff has had several discussions with representatives
from National Camera Exchange concerning their proposal to add additional signage
to one of the existing pylon signs at the Rosedale Marketplace Shopping Center at
County Road B-2 and Fairview Avenue. Staff indicated to them that no additional
sign area is possible and that they ivould have to work within the existing sign area.
Apparently the property owner and other tenants are not willing to reduce their sign
areas to allow National Camera Exchange to 'have a sign on the pylon.
The amount of freestanding signage in place: ,.in the site exceeds the amount of
signage allowed by current City ordinance., in teens of number of freestanding
signs, sign area, and sign Height. The current signage is consistent with what was
approved by the City through the special use permit for site plant approval process
which was required when the shopping center was originally built. 'Phis process is
no longer required. To add addtional sign area on any of the pylon signs would
require a variance.
