tower -like focal point with a standing rib metal roof. The addition of
this focal point at the new entrance to the building, we hope will
considerably enhance the aesthetic quality of the structure and
contribute the public's more efficient use of the site and the postal
services.
Developing the entire structure in shades of gray with polished brass
letters mounted on the front of the facade would produce a dignified
and an attractive design solution.
The applicant has agreed to and proposes in his drawing, a dedication of
an additional 9.5 feet of right-of-way for County Road B-2.
Additionally, he proposed to construct a sidewalk on the public
right-of-way. This walk will be located somewhat further north from
the new property line so as to retain the existing trees that currently
grow along the front of the site. You will note too, that they have
added considerable landscaping to the site, which we feel will contribute
to an attractive end result.
The adjustment in the cost as tentatively agreed upon with the
applicants will be available at the Planning Commission Hearing.
Suffice it to say, that a major contribution, from the landowner who
has worked closely with the City Staff and the Post Office to achieve
the revised design solutions. In summary, the applicant seeks under the
current proposal, a variance to the parking setback in the Front yard
from 40 feet and 20 feet to 18 feet.
