In sand, the indicated <br />levels may be considered reliable ground water levels. In clay soil, it may not be possible to determine the ground water level within the normal <br />time requited (or test borings, except where lenses or layers of more pervious waterbeating soil are present. Even then, an extended period of <br />time may be necessary to reach equilibrium. Therefore, the position of the water level symbol for cohesive or mixed texture soils may not indicate <br />the true level of the ground water table.
