Page 4 - #120-11872
Fine, coarse and mixed alluvial deposits were encountered at several of the
boring locations. Generally these soils were encountered immediately below
the topsoil. The fine alluvial deposits consist of silty clay and clayey
silt. These soils have soft to medium consistencies. In a few of the boring
locations, some granular coarse alluvial deposits were also encountered.
In the eastern lower portion of the site, these soils are loose, however,
in the higher portion of the site at boring 6, these deposits are dense.
The glacial till deposits consist primarily of sandy clays with some lean
clays and clayey sands. Generally, these soils have a soft to medium consis-
tency in the upper portion of the deposit and become rather stiff to very
stiff with depth. The softer glacial till deposits were generally encoun-
tered in the lower, eastern portion of the site.
Water Levels
Water level measurements were made in the borings and the data is included
on the logs. Water levels recorded in relatively impervious soils may not
be a reliable indication of the static ground water level, even after several
days of observation. The ground water levels, can be expected to flucturte
both seasonally and yearly.
SOIL t?XPLORBtlon
v
