Metila and Associates
STS Project 93492
December 19, 1984
-1-
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Introduction '
The proposed Loemann's Plaza Shopping Center is to be located near the
intersection of. County B-2 and Fairview Avenue in Roseville, Minnesota.
Several previous developments have been planned for this site and
portions of the site have been drilled for at least two subsurface
explorations prior to this study. Borings in the northeast corner of
the development site indicated that some fill and organic soils were
present. Based on these borings, this study was performed in order to
further delineate the subsurface conditions with respect to the new
oesign of the proposed shopping center. The borings for this study are
concentrated in the northeast corner of the development site in the
area where fill deposits are known to exist.
In this area of the proposed development, a two-story retail structure
is planned which will probably be of masonry block construction or
precast concrete construction. First floor elevation is planned to be
930.0 ft USGS, which is up to 9 ft above the existing ground surface in
the northeast corner of the building pad area. The proposed structures
are to be surrounded by parking areas and driveways. The proposed
drive on the north side of the new building will be supported by a
retaining wall of approximately 8 ft height. North of the retaining
wall a utility easement for Williams Pipeline Company is located and a
storm sewer retention pond at elevation 914 ft USGS is planned.
to
