MLmorandum to File
Page Three
March 5, 1985
Comm. No. 84-01-0031-01
17. Bill Nichols indicated to proceed with the plan received from Loehmann's
regarding this store. We will receive, in addition, a reflected ceiling
plan and interior elevations. Bill Nichols will verify the conveyor
system intended to be used in the store. KKE indicated that the
presently shown roof c-.uttle access would not be acceptable to the
Building Inspection De,artment. It was also noted that the Women's
Toilet Room was not accessible to the handicapped. A one foot wide space
needs to be provided south of Door Number 14.
18. The pylon signs were briefly discussed. The City has reviewed their lo-
cations and indicated that they need to occur beyond the required set-
back.
19. Gary Newhouse indicated that he has contacted sign companies regarding
leasing the signs. Further information will be provided as it is
available.
20. Architecturally, the exterior elevation presented was acceptable. Dryvit
was discussed as a potentially useful material for the interior and
exterior of the pavilions as well as the accent stripe on the masonry
walls. The Owner concurred with this selection. It was agreed the lower
8' of the interior and exterior surfaces would be reinforced with a
double layer of mesh.
21. The ceiling of the pavilions were agreed to be configured in a series of
stepped coffers. This simplifies the roof construction and gives these
areas a very crisp appearance. Special lighting should include some
uplights.
22. The Owner will check on the door manufacturer for the overhead doors used
on the Toronto project for possible inclusion in this project. KKE also
suggested a new overhead door type but did not have a contact yet.
23. The Owner suggested that the skylights along the sloping roof portion of
the wall be as flush as possible with the outer roofing material. KKE
will investigate.
24. The permanent main doors at each pavilion need to be fixed in an open
position when the overhead doors are used in their open position. KKE
will investigate.
25. We agreed that the use of an integral color in the concrete walkway
including the use of scoring would achieve a more distinctive appearance
for the floor surfaces. It was agreed that no additional lease space is
to be developed on the lower level near or under the entrance bridge.
26. KKE is to develop a scheme for exiting to the north through the
presently designated storage area on the lower level. The storage area
is to be lowered to the adjacent (Lease Space 24) floor elevation.
27. KKE is to call Williams Pipe Line regarding the required information.
