At the September 3rd meeting of the Planning Commission, the Commission voted to adjourn the hearing on Mr. Hess's request for variances to the is proposed addition to his building atdthe southwest scornerfor hof McCarron Street and Rice Street. Attached is a copy of the staff report for September 3, 1985, outlining the pro osal and our concerns relating to the proposed development. p 2. At the October meeting, Mr. Hess requested the continuance of his hearing to the November meeting so as to allow time for him to prepare more adequate drawings of his development proposal as requested by the Planning Commission. 3• Since the Septew')ev meeting, we have met with Mr. Hos,; several times in cur attempts to assist him to prepare the appropriate site and building plans requested. At his request, we suggested several professionals who might offer the needed assistance. Mr. Hess reported that none of four he contacted wire able to do the work and, thus, he hL� additional drawings prepared by the construction company who prepared the original site plan. Attached are reduced copies of a more complete site plan and the front elevation Of the existing and proposed structure as viewed from McCarron Street. 4. The revised site plan now indicates the front yard setback along Rice Street to be, at its closest point,.. 26 feet; and the setback from.__.McCa_ rron _Street ( to the north) to be, at its closest _pixint, 9 feet_-_8_inches. The plan indicates the location of four -trees to be left on the west side of the site and two additional trees to be planted on the north side. The plan also indicates the location of the existing hedge which surrounds the property on the east (toward Rice Street) and the south.
