At the September 3rd meeting of the Planning Commission, the <br />Commission voted to adjourn the hearing on Mr. Hess's <br />request for variances to the <br />is <br />proposed addition to his building atdthe southwest scornerfor hof <br />McCarron Street and Rice Street. Attached is a copy of the <br />staff report for September 3, 1985, outlining the pro osal <br />and our concerns relating to the proposed development. p <br />2. At the October meeting, Mr. Hess requested the continuance <br />of his hearing to the November meeting so as to allow time <br />for him to prepare more adequate drawings of his development <br />proposal as requested by the Planning Commission. <br />3• Since the Septew')ev meeting, we have met with Mr. Hos,; several times in cur attempts to assist him to prepare the <br />appropriate site and building plans requested. At his <br />request, we suggested several professionals who might offer <br />the needed assistance. Mr. Hess reported that none of four <br />he contacted wire able to do the work and, thus, he hL� additional drawings prepared by the construction company who <br />prepared the original site plan. Attached are reduced <br />copies of a more complete site plan and the front elevation <br />Of the existing and proposed structure as viewed from <br />McCarron Street. <br />4. The revised site plan now indicates the front yard setback <br />along Rice Street to be, at its closest <br />point,.. 26 feet; and <br />the setback from.__.McCa_ rron _Street ( to the north) to be, at <br />its closest _pixint, 9 feet_-_8_inches. The plan indicates the <br />location of four -trees to be left on the west side of the <br />site and two additional trees to be planted on the north <br />side. The plan also indicates the location of the existing <br />hedge which surrounds the property on the east (toward Rice <br />Street) and the south. <br />
