3/22/89 <br />CRITERIA AND REQUIREMENTS USED IN THE <br />ROSEDALE CENTER TRANSIT TERMINAL AND TURNAROUND <br />SITE RELOCATION STUDY <br />Operational Requirements <br />1. Transit vehicle operations will be restricted to perimeter roads and fire lanes <br />wherever possible. <br />2. Bus terminal and turnaround area with walk distance to common shopping mail <br />entrance of no more than 400 feet. <br />3. Front door access at a common shopping mall entrance for all transit vehicles <br />leaving Rosedale Center. <br />4. The common mall entrance served by public transit will be handicapped <br />accessible. <br />5. Minimize operations of transit vehicles through parking aisles. <br />Spatial Requirements <br />1. Curb parking space for four standard size buses (40' bus) and four mini -coaches (30' <br />bus) interspersed approximately 20 feet apart to allow independent movement of <br />buses. <br />A. Length Criteria. Two working design alternatives have been identified: <br />1) linear design --one 400-foot segment of curb space with all buses lining up in a <br />row <br />2) sandwich design --two 200-foot segments of curb space with buses <br />"stacked" at two paralleling staging areas. <br />B. Width Criteria, 10-foot parking aisle, 12-foot drive aisle; 8-foot curb space. <br />1) linear design--30-foot width required <br />2) sandwich design--60-foot width required <br />
