MEMORANDUM <br />Page Two <br />July 24, 1989 <br />Parking Decks (Continued) <br />Action Due Item Task <br />2.5 Issue: Stairs and Exiting <br />Resolution: South Deck - Exit width required is 10.88' Width provided will <br />be 12'plus the access ramp. Exit distance is well within the <br />250' maximum allowed <br />West Deck - Exit width required is 11.18'. Width provided will <br />be 12' plus the at grade access to both levels. <br />2.6 Issue: Standpipes <br />Resolution: Dry standpipes will be provided at each stair, on each level. <br />There will be one common connection to all three deck <br />standpipes. Drainable standpipes will be used. <br />2.7 Issue: Lighting <br />Resolution: According t..o City Council approval, average lighting levels will <br />not be below 7-1/2 foot candles. <br />Comment: The light fixtures will be installed so that the fixtures are not <br />above the bottoms of the precast beams. <br />2.8 Issue: Emergency Vehicle Access <br />Comment: Inner ring of parking deck is being designed for highway <br />loading while field of parking is being designed for 50 psf. <br />Roseville's general policy is to avoid fighting fires with heavy <br />equipment on parking decks. <br />Roseville is planning on purchasing, in 1991, a smaller vehicle <br />(modified pick-up truck to fight brush fires and car fires on <br />parking decks. This vehicle could work within the 7-0" clear <br />restrictions as well as travel on the open parking field. <br />Roseville Fire department may need an access point with clearance of 9 <br />8/17/89 to 9-1/2 feet at some point. John Nisja will investigate <br />signage height needed. <br />2.9 Issue: Security System <br />Comment: The Center manager is currently working out a system with <br />Honeywell. <br />There will not be emergency pull boxes as they are easily <br />vandalized. <br />
