MEMORANDUM <br />Page Five <br />July 24,1989 <br />Building Renovation (Continued) <br />Action Due Item Task <br />2.18 Issue: Tenant Separation <br />Resolution: 1-hour separation between tenants from floor slab to underside <br />of slab above. <br />2.19 Issue: Public Address System <br />Resolution: The I3A system will be cross connected to emergency power. <br />2.20 Issue: Emergency Power <br />Resolution: Emergency power will be hooked up to exist lighting, the power <br />panel, and smoke control equipment. It will not be connected <br />to elevators. <br />TCC/MCE 2.21 Issue: Fire Pump Power <br />Action. Will verify if there is an existing pump, and if there is not, verify <br />if one is needed. <br />2.22 Issue: Exiting <br />Resolution: According to the 1988 UBC, there will be an excess of exits and <br />exit width requirements will be significantly excw,: a.d. <br />Exit distance in the existing mall area will basically rr:.Aain as is. <br />Exit distance in renovated Daytons will be less than 200 feet. <br />Tenant entry doors between Penney's and Dayton will be <br />replaced. <br />Exit passageways will be upgraded as necessary to provide a <br />quick and safe passage to exit doors. <br />2.23 Issue: Sprinkling of Mall During Construction <br />Comment: John Nisja stated that if scaffolding was erected below sprinkler <br />heads, that temporary means would have to be found to <br />sprinkle the mall space if scaffolding boards were more than <br />4' wide. <br />Dennis L.aFrance responded that scaffolding would be erected <br />above the sprinkler heads and that the scaffold framework <br />should not block the sprinklers. <br />2.24 Issue: Plastics, Sheet Poly <br />Comment: John Nisja stated that any plastics used should be a fire resistive <br />type. <br />
