M E M O R A N D U M
DATE: July 6, 1989
TO: Steve Sarkozy
FROM: Craig A. Waldron
SUBJECT:
Zoning issue east of PavAAion Place
Based on the fact that it has came to our attention that Welsh
may not be able to extend its purchase contracts with the
adjacent 22 homeowners, which reportedly expired July 3, 1989, I
thought it would be appropriate to check with Mr. Bell regarding
the status of the rezoning.
The attached minutes from March 27, 1989, point out that the
Council required that 3 anchors be signed before the ordinance
was published which formally would have effectuated the shopping
center zoning. If Welsh is unable to extend the purchase
agreements but another developer surfaces that the homeowner's
wish to work with, Mr. Bell has informed me that the City could
proceed to publish the ordinance and thus facilitate the required
rezoning. However, Mr. Bell did caution that the publishing
should occur fairly soon and not drag out indefinitely if that
is indeed the City's intent.
At this point in time, we need to hear from the homeowners Pad
their representatives with respect to their intentions as it
relates to extension or potentially working with another
developer.
