At this time, we do not have any to deny recommendation for approval. Interestingly, I have received two anonymous telephone calls relevant to this application. According to the caller# another individual is upposedly owns the tables and video games. financing this operation and secdos This individual was named by the caller; and a rec�ida� onk wee could not a criminal history file. As a result o£ our roves g affirm that the individual with the criminal record is actually the financier of the business. I personally called another billiard center (as "tipped" by the anonymous caller) to see if any employee would indicate as common knowledge that the individual with the criminal record was opening a billiard center in Roseville. The employee that I spoke with denied any knowledge of the person with the criminal record opening a center in Roseville. I advised the anonymous caller to write a lettterto e Council Although outlining his concerns regarding the application being approved. he stated he would do so on the evening of November lst, a letter has yet to be received by City Hall. Finally, if this special permit is approved, I suggest two conditions be considered: 1. Hours of operation -- close the business no later than 11:00 p.m. on weekdays (Sunday thru Thursday) and midnite on Fridays and Saturdays. 2. A security officer should be on duty during peak hours (especially if extended hours past 11:00 p.ri.) are granted. (The Circus at Har Mar Mall has this now and has found it an effective way to control trouble). I will attend the Council meeting when this application comes up for consideration to answer questions they may have.
