REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />DATE: 7-25-88 <br />ITEM NO.: P- a --- <br />Department Approval: Manager Reviewed: Agenda SectiDn: <br />Item Description: <br />Consent <br />Authorization to enter into Community <br />Development Block Grant Agreement with Ramsey <br />County. <br />Three years ago, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development, determined that Ramsey County could become an <br />entitlement unit for Community Development Block Grants. Thus, <br />rather than having to deal with HUD on a national level or the <br />state, Roseville is able to participate in this program through <br />direct contact with Ramsey County. This has been extremely <br />beneficial for the City in that we were able to be "competitive" as <br />we have competed only with other Ramsey County cities, not <br />statewide cc;=W-pities that would include the range, depressed farm <br />areas, etc. <br />It is now time to sign a new three year agreement that would allow <br />Ramsey to continue to operate as a entitlement county. As <br />previously stated, this entitlement program has been extremely <br />beneficial to Roseville. It has been utilized for the Lincoln <br />develop -Anent, and a senior program at Villa Park. The C4.ty Attorney <br />has reviewed the agreement and finds it to be in order. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: Motion to approve/deny authorization to <br />enter into Community Development Block <br />Grant Agreement with Ramsey County. <br />
