Please pu <br />guidelines into proper. ordinance form for counci <br />on May 27, 1989. <br />S, <br />A. The Planning Commission recommends that <br />ordinances pertaining to outside display 'of <br />changed as follows: <br />1. Temporary displays up to 8 days a year can be approved <br />through a temporary permit issued by the building <br />inspector in any business district where retail sales <br />are allowed. This includes B-2, B-31 B-4, and SC <br />districts. <br />2. Outside display of merchandise except as covered above <br />would be permitted in the B-2 and B-3 district by <br />special use permit. The criteria for issuance of <br />special use permits for outside display of merchandise <br />should be a.s follows: <br />a) Outside sales area shall not exceed 10 percent of <br />the gross sales floor area within the structure. <br />b) Merchandise to be located immediately contiguous <br />to the structure only. <br />c) Merchandise shall not be within any required side <br />yard, or extend more than 6 feet into the required <br />front yard. <br />d) Merchandise shall not occupy any designated <br />parking area. <br />e) Merchandise shall be displayed during normal <br />business hours only and shall be stored inside the <br />principle structure during non business hours. <br />f) Maximum height of merchandise shall be 6 feet. <br />2660 CIVIC CEN'Cl;RI h I)VI� - w)Sl;N'ILLI: - MINNI SOTA - 5511.3-612-490-2200 <br />
