MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: June 12, 1989 <br />TO: Craig <br />FROM: Rick <br />SUBJECT: Alternative solutions to the concern about outside <br />display of plant materials <br />The following are alternatives which could be utilized for <br />dealing with the issue of outside storage of plant materials. <br />1. Leave the language in the ordinance that was originally <br />proposed which exempted outside display of plant materials <br />from the special use permit process. <br />2. Leave the ordinance as currently proposed which would <br />require all outside display of plant material 'to get a <br />special use permit. <br />3. Language could be added to Section 8.240 (Permitted uses in <br />a B-1 District) to specifically permit outside storage of <br />landscape plant materials at lawn and garden centers. <br />4. Add the following language to Section 8.190: 1(c): Outside <br />display of landscape plant materials where accessory to <br />garden centers . <br />5. Add the following language to Section 8.190: 1(c): <br />Existing outside display of landscape plant materials at <br />lawn and garden centers existing on the effective date of <br />this ordinance amendment . <br />
