The project will house elderly resi- dents who do not drive or engage much in outside activities. Therefore, the activity levels around the project will not be noticable from the outside. At the other Elder Homestead project in Minnetonka, a 28 unit project, none of the resi- dents have their own car. The parking lot for the other pro- ject, with only 15 spaces is never full. This project will have have over 34 parking spaces for 68 residents. The addi- tion of this new alternative to a nursing home for elderly residents will greatly enhance the choices for elderly and their children in the Roseville area when it is no longer appr°opiate for them to live alone. Experience at the other existing Elder Homestead indicates that the residents move in from about a 5 mile radius from the project.... therefore, this project will be serving the needs f o residents in the immediate area. r. Activity levels on Lake Owasso will not increase as a re- sult of the project because the residents do not engage in outside activities nor will there be any access to the lake from the property. The trees and foliage which now block the view of the pro- perty from the lake will be maintained as much as possible, therefore, other property owners on the lake as well as lake users will not be affected negatively by the addition of the project. The project will have a highly respected and established health care organization providing security 24 hours a day to the residents as well as providing the availability of home health care services. Therefore, the health and safety of the residents will be well provided for.
