It is currently zoned B-3,
which allows the
bowling alley.and the current proposed retail.
Dahlgren pointed out that a permit was issued
for the new
building modifications, which the City
Attorney deemed
appropriate. It was later ascertained that the
modifications did
not include modifications to the parking lot.
Even though such
modifications weren't required, the developer
did decide to clean
up the lot with landscape and islands. It
was decided that
because of the City's request to modify the
parking lot, the
respective variances were needed.
The variances requested are from ten feet to
zero feet on the
north side of the building, from thirty feet
to zero feet on the
south side of the building, from fifteen to
seven feet on the
south side of the parking lot, from ten feet
to zero feet on the ,
west side of the parking lot, from five feet
to zero feet on the
north side of the parking lot, and from one
hundred parking
spaces to ninety-five parking spaces.
Stokes asked why weren't these variances
obtained first.
Dahlgren pointed out that the developer did not
have to clean up
the parking lot, this was a suggestion on the
part of the City.
