• ROSEVILLE eLANNING COMMISSION MEETING Wednesday, December 2, 1987 The December 2, 1987, regular meeting of the Roseville Planning Commission was called to order by Chairperson Pat Johnson at 7:30 1,�).m. Members Present: Johnson, Berry, Stokes, DeBenedet, Goedeke, and Moeller. Members Absent: Maschka. Staff Present: Waldron, Dahlgren, and Janisch. Council Present: Cushman (liaison) and Kehr. Approval of Minutes Berry moved, Goedeke seconded, that the minutes of the regular meeting of the Rosevili.le Planning Commission held Wednesday, November 4, 1987, be approved with the following modification: On Page 6, third paragraph, the name referred to should be Terren as opposed to Johnson. Roll Call, Ayes: Johnson, Moeller. Nays: None. Berry, Stokes, DeBenedet, Goedeke and Planning File 1809 Kraus -Anderson request for variance at 2057 North Snelling Avenue. Presentation Dahlgren showed the location of the building. This was the old Rose Bowl that was built before 1959, and has been unused for a number of years. It is currently zoned B-3, which allows the bowling alley.and the current proposed retail. Dahlgren pointed out that a permit was issued for the new building modifications, which the City Attorney deemed appropriate. It was later ascertained that the modifications did not include modifications to the parking lot. Even though such modifications weren't required, the developer did decide to clean up the lot with landscape and islands. It was decided that because of the City's request to modify the parking lot, the respective variances were needed. The variances requested are from ten feet to zero feet on the north side of the building, from thirty feet to zero feet on the south side of the building, from fifteen to seven feet on the south side of the parking lot, from ten feet to zero feet on the , west side of the parking lot, from five feet to zero feet on the north side of the parking lot, and from one hundred parking spaces to ninety-five parking spaces. Stokes asked why weren't these variances obtained first. Dahlgren pointed out that the developer did not have to clean up the parking lot, this was a suggestion on the part of the City.
