Tues~, May 8, 1956 8 p.m. <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date with the following members present: <br />SaJ.verda, Carlson, Kitts, Hammersten, and McGee. Robert Gearin" Attorney was <br />also present. <br /> <br />The minutes of the May 1st CounciJ. Meeting will be up for approval at the <br />~ 15, 19.56 Council Meeting as S) me of the members did not have a chance <br />to examine their copies before this meeting. <br /> <br />A report from the Planning Commission regarding the rezoning of the follow.. Rezoning <br />iD.g described property from Farm. Residential to Industrial, stated that by" <br />unanimous vote they recommend the rezoning be approved. <br />The Wester~ 100 feet of the Northerly 66 feet <br />of the East 1 of the Northwest i of the South- <br />west i of the Southeast i of Section 10, Town- <br />ship 29, Range 23. <br />Hammersten Moved, Carlson Seconded the CouncïL concur with and accept the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission which includes a suggestion re- <br />garding a five foot setback provision sta.ted in Ordinance 149. <br />Mr. Harry Paulas , residing on Dellwood Street., sta.ted that he is within <br />250 feet of the property in question and is opposed to the rezoning. <br />Jack Pound of Merrill Street protested to the rezoning as he will be directly <br />facing the Chandler Burial VaUlt Company's proposed gara~e if the rezoning <br />should go through. His property is not located within 250 feet of the property <br />in question. <br />Earl J. Hare, residing at T.H. 36 and Dellwood within 250 feet of the property <br />in question objected to the rezoning as he feels his adjoining property won't <br />sell as easy after a rezoDing. <br />Hammersten Moved, Carlson Seconded the abo ~ motion be amendèd to exclude the <br />five foot setback. Roll Call A¡y-es (5(-Nqes(0). <br />Hammersten Moved, Carlson Seconded the property" in question be rezoned from <br />Farm. Residential to Industrial. Roll Call A;s"es (5)..Nayes (0). <br /> <br />.An application for Sewer Inspector was submitted by Robert Adams of 2599 Emp. Appl. <br />N. Lexington. Hr. Adams appeeed before the Council and was told that his <br />application 'Kill be kept on file. <br /> <br />Floyd Olson notified the CO'Wlcil that he is anxious to finish the streets <br />in Fairview Heights and asked if the Engineer can supervize the oiling of <br />the streets so he can get. his bond released4 <br /> <br />.Mr. Messerli of the Planning Commission urged the Council to obtain names <br />of people who will be able to §ssist in setting up a comprehensive plan <br />for the Village. They would like about seventy-five people by the 16th <br />of May, 1956. The Planning Commission will help in obtaining names. The <br />Commis sion wishes to hold a Plat and Subdivision Regulation Meeting on <br />Thursdq I Mtq 24, 1956 with the Village Councu. <br /> <br />John Daubney appeared in behalf of McGough Construction Co. regarding the <br />following described property which the McGough Compa.n;.y is interested in <br />having rezoned from Farm Residential to Industrial. <br /> <br />Street Const. <br />
