•
City of Roseville
James Andre
City Manager
Roseville, MN 55113
Mr. Andre,
27 March 1985
This letter is a request to the city council nf Roseville asking for a
variance to the zoning code concerning shorelaud management. The property
involved is located on Lake Josephine at 3084 Hamline Avenue North, Lot 20
Hackney Park. The present owners/occupants of this property are James A. and
Kathleen K. Saari.
The variance asked for involves the minimum setback distance from the hi h
water line for additions to an existing structure. g
of existing and proposed setbacks based on the plann deadditionsgshown on mthey
attached plot drawing.
Existing
Proposed
Setbacks
Setbacks
- Front Lot Line (Lake Side)
- Side
46'
d
Lot Line (West)
161
0
- Back Lot Line (Street Sid e)
1 66
- Side Lot Line (East)
10,
146'
10'
The planned addition on the back (street side) of the house includes:
- 20' x 24' Attached Garage 480 s ft.
- 5' x 9' Foyer q'
11' x 10' Dinette Area 46 sq. ft.
110 sq. ft.
Total 635 sq. ft.
The planned addition on the front (lake side) of the house includes:
x 18' Open Deck
--.1-c4 a q . f t .
We ask for a variance to the zoning code for the following reasons:
The existing house is in desperate need of maintenance and repair. The
existing garage needs total rebuilding or replacement. The incorporation of a
new attached garage and addition to the back of the house (street side) will
facilitate much needed repair on the house windows, doors, siding, leakin
porch roof, and sinking porch foundation. g
The attached garage is desired and important to us because of increased
security against break-ins, increased safety against increased protection from inclement weather, resale advantages and
appearance.
