This concern, I <br />-- <br />z' <br />know, is shared by the management of the College, the owners of the office <br />building, and I am sure by members of the Planning Commission and Council <br />4 4 <br />as well. So as to gain a more precise understanding of what these needs <br />might be, we have conducted some research in the Metropolitan Area with <br />4 <br />similar institutions to gather additional information which might be <br />helpful. <br />We have contacted the institutions listed below with results as follows: <br />1. Brown Institute, East Lake Street, Minneapolis <br />` They have approximately 700 students with parking capacity for 369 <br />spaces. This institution also has bus service available on Lake Street. <br />They indicate that 70% of all their students drive, and they are also <br />"heavily dependent" on on -street parking. <br />2. Dunwoody Industrial Institute, Wayzata Boulevard, Minneapolis <br />They have approximately 1,300 students for which they provide one <br />parking space for each staff plus parking for approximately 80% of <br />their students. They have an adequate off-street parking lot to <br />fulfill that need. <br />3. Northern Electronics Institute, Columbia Heights <br />This Institute was issued a Conditional Use Permit in Columbia Heights <br />with a condition that students not park on the streets.
