E. Location: A Courtesy Bench shall be placed parallel to and no nearer closer than four feet <br /> from the roadway curb or the edge of the roadway where no curb exists and shall not <br /> obstruct a pathway. A bench may be located on a sidewalk, provided that the minimum <br /> remaining width of the sidewalk after bench installation is six feet.No bench shall be fixed <br /> to any city property including city sidewalks,utility poles and signs without prior approval <br /> of the City. <br /> F. Number: No more than one bus Courtesy Bench may be placed at a roadway intersection <br /> in the direction of traffic flow, unless the Public Works Director authorizes more benches <br /> in writing after finding that the passenger load justifies more than one Courtesy Bench at a <br /> bus stop.All bus benches shall bear the local telephone number at which the permittee may <br /> be reached concerning issues with the bench. <br /> G. Proximity to Other Benches Structures: No bus Courtesy Bench may be placed within 500 <br /> feet of any other bench or within 15 feet of an existing Transit Shelter on a roadway,unless <br /> the Public Works Director authorizes more Courtesy Benches in writing after finding that <br /> the passenger load justifies more than one Courtesy Bench at a bus stop or closer proximity. <br /> Courtesy Benches shall not be located within 5 feet of fire hydrants, driveways, or <br /> crosswalks. <br /> H. Size: The maximum size of a Courtesy Bench shall be three and one-half feet high, seven <br /> feet long and three feet wide erected upon a concrete pad, or approved of—equal, of a <br /> maximum eight feet-eight-foot length and four foot four-foot width.The maximum amount <br /> of advertising on a bus bench shall not exceed eleven square feet. <br /> I. ADA Compliance: All Courtesy Benches in construction and location must comply with <br /> the Americans with Disabilities Act. <br /> J. Color: A Courtesy Bench shall be of a single color except a multicolored advertising sign. <br /> The bench signage may be affixed to or may be used as the backrest of the Courtesy Bench. <br /> Signage shall be affixed only to the street-side portion of the Courtesy Bench backrest <br /> K. Material: Materials used in constructing Courtesy Benches must be constructed using <br /> durable materials including,but not limited to, wood, steel, concrete, or plastic. <br /> L. Advertising: Courtesy Benches may display Signs as defined by Roseville City Code Sec. <br /> 1010.02 (A)(1) and must be approved by the Director of Public Works. Such signs do not <br /> require a sign permit. Such signs may not contain a dynamic display. The maximum <br /> amount of advertising on a Courtesy Bench shall not exceed eleven square feet and may <br /> only be displayed on the front surface of the back rest. <br /> M. Structure Maintenance: When directed by the Public Works Director as necessary to <br /> address refuse and litter issues, bench sites shall be equipped with an architecturally <br /> 2 <br />
