<br />Village of RoseTi11e <br /> <br />Regular meeting of the Village Council Tuesday, June 5, 1956 <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date with the following members present. <br />Carlson, Hænmersten, and Kitts. AttGrney Robert Gearin and Engineer E. C. <br />Bather were also present. McGee and Salverda - late. <br /> <br />The minutes of the May 15, and Mq 21 meetings were held over for approval <br />as not all members were present when the matter was brought up. <br /> <br />llie Planning Commission reported in a letter that at its last regular meet- <br />ing they took up the matter of the rezoning of an area near the northwest corner <br />of Dale and County Road B, from Farm. to Class B. residential. The property in <br />question is to be used as a youth center to be build by a: non-profl t corporaåion. <br />The letter stated facts in opposition to the matter and that the Commission's <br />unanimous opinion is that this site is not suitable for the proposed use and <br />therefore should not be rezoned at this time. No action was taken on the matter. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission reported in a letter that a public hearing was held <br />on the rezoning from farm to Class C residential, of 9 acres in the vicinity <br />of Dale and L31'penteur, between the cemetery and the waterworks road. The <br />property in question is to be used for f juvenile Detention Home. The Plan- <br />ning Commission recommended that the rezoning request be approved. <br />Hammersten Moved, Carlson Seconded the council concur with the Planning <br />Commission's recommendation. Roll Call qes (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />The PJ~nn1ng Commission stated that a public hearing was held on the rezon- <br />ing from fzrm to industrial of the area south of the Northern Pacific tracks <br />between Ham11ne and Dellwood, known as Robertts Addition. A large number of <br />residents within 250 feet appeared in strong protest. In accordance with <br />their request, the Planning Commission suggested that the Council conduct <br />a hearing on the matter at the June 12, Counciã meeting. <br />I;1;ammersten Moved, Carlson Seconded the hearing be postponed to June 12, 1956. <br />Roll Call 4e5 (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />At i:ts regular meeting of June 4, the P1aIming Commission studied Wilson IS <br />Midland View Subdivi5ion P1at. Sincè there appears to be some problem of <br />hQW Skil1ma.n Avenue in the plat wil1 connect to adjo:iDütø street. The <br />Commission suggested that Mr. Wilson meet wi th them at its special meeting <br />of June 18, to give them additional information. <br />HaJllß).ersten Moved, Oarlson Seconded Mr. W:i.1Eon be notified of the special <br />meeting. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Na.yes (o). <br /> <br />The Planning Commission reported that the subdivision plat of Floyd Olson <br />- has been talÅ“n UP. They suggested some revisions in the design and will <br />be prepared to discuss them with Mr. Olson at their special m.eeting of June 18. <br /> <br />A plat of Haglund's Add:i.t.ion was submitted to,.the CO'UIlCil by Ray Kroiss. <br />McGee Moved, Salverda Seconded the plat be accepted and referred to the <br />Planning Commission for their study and recommendation. Roll Call Ayes (,) <br />Nay-es (0). - <br /> <br />A letter from Thomas J. Gibbons was read regarding his recent proposal for <br />, installation and operation of a two-way radio communications system for <br />the entire county.
