Draft <br />March 4, 2024 <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />44 If the following conditions are met, the City will install streetlights at the <br />45 following locations: <br />46 The location is at the intersection of two streets, OR <br />47 The location is at the end of a cul-de-sac, OR <br />48 The location is on a severe curve, either vertically or horizontally, <br />49 OR <br />50 The location is at a marked pedestrian crosswalk. <br />51 City staff will notify property owners within 300 feet of the new light <br />52 location where lighting will be installed at least three weeks prior to the <br />53 installation of the light. <br />54 Mid-block lights are desirable and should be considered for placement if <br />55 the spacing between existing lights is greater than 600 feet. If the above <br />56 conditions are met, an individual property owner may circulate a petition <br />57 in the neighborhood to determine if the light is desired (particularly by <br />58 those property owners directly adjacent to the proposed light). If 60% <br />59 consensus is built with property owners within 150 feet of the proposed <br />60 light, the City staff will work with the electric utility company to install <br />61 the light. <br />62 o Streetlight Design <br />63 Streetlight Type: LED Cobrahead Cutoff <br />64 Pole Type: <br />65 Wooden if available <br />66 Fiberglass or aluminum if a pole needs to be installed. <br />67 o Funding <br />68 The City will fund installation and maintenance of lights within the <br />69 Standard District. <br />70 B. Business District <br />71 o This standard will be applied to all areas identified as Business Districts as shown <br />72 in Appendix A <br />73 o Procedure <br />74 Property owners that would like street segments to be added to the <br />75 Business Lighting District shall petition the City Council.
