City of Roseville <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1673 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br /> TITLE 8, SECTION 801.22 <br /> AMENDING TITLE 8 SECTION 801.22 OF THE ROSEVILLE CITY CODE TO <br /> UPDATE REGULATIONS REALTED TO PRIVATE WATER SUPPLIES <br /> THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE ORDAINS: <br /> SECTION 1: Title 8, Section 801.22 is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 801.22: PRIVATE WATER SUPPLIES: <br /> A. Connection to Water System Prohibited: No water pipe of the municipal water system <br /> shall be connected with any pump, well, tank or piping that is connected with any other <br /> source of water supply. (Ord. 388, 1 22 1963) <br /> B. Continued Use after Connection to System: Private wells may be maintained and <br /> continued in use after connection is made to the water system,provided there is no means <br /> of cross-connection between the private well and Municipal municipal supply at any time. <br /> Hose bibbs that will enable the cross-connection of the two systems are prohibited on <br /> internal piping of the well supply system. The threads on the boiler drain of the well <br /> volume tank shall be removed or the boiler drain bibb replaced with a sink faucet. Where <br /> both private and City municipal systems are in use, outside hose bibbs shall not be <br /> installed on both systems. Existing wells that discharge to the sanitary sewer systems <br /> must have a water meter installed to calculate sanitary sewer charges. <br /> C. New Construction: All new construction must connect to the municipal water system. <br /> 4- Water Main Available: All new homes or buildings shall connect to the Municipal <br /> water-system-if-a-water--fftain-is-a-vailahle-te-the-pr-epefty-unless-the-Gity-C—euneil <br /> approves ,te well where„nus„al . mstances o is* <br /> available to the property, the-City Council shall determine whether and under what <br /> conditions the Municipal water system will be extended to serve the property or a <br /> private well allowed. (Ord. 530, 3 20 1967) <br /> D. Existing Private Water System: Existing private waters ,stems m be „tinuea ~d <br /> All properties that are currently served by a private water system, but have <br /> municipal water available, must connect to the municipal water system no later than July <br /> 31, 2035. A property is considered to have "municipal water available" if the structure to <br /> be served is within 400 feet of a watermain.The City will impose a non-compliantproperty <br /> connection charge on the utility bill on all properties that do not connect to the municipal <br /> water system by July 31, 2035. The City fee schedule in Section 314.052 will establish the <br /> charge. Existing private water systems may continue to be used for irrigation,provided that <br /> Stfiketlicough indicates deleted language,underline indicates new language <br />
