Permit Required: No person shall drill any well without first obtaining a permit from the City and the Minnesota Department of Health. Application for such permit shall state the character, location and size of the proposed well. Requirements For Issuance:The Director of Public Works Director shall issue such permits only if one of the following exists: 1. The well will only serve one single family residence, and the use of the Municipal dwelling. 1. The well is to be used for monitoring purposes only and will be abandoned in accordance with State regulations at a set future date. 2. All other wells shall require a permit from the City Council. The City Council will issue such permits only after a determination that the private well will not interfere with the Municipal municipal system and that the property cannot be served by the existing Municipal municipal system. Well Pumps: No person shall install or replace a pump without first obtaining a permit to do so. Application for a permit to install or replace a pump for a well shall be made in writing to the Chief Code Enforcement Officer Building Official and shall state the manufacturer, type, horsepower, and rating of the proposed pump to be installed or replaced.
