Co. was the low bidder in the <br />amount of i344,576.84. <br />Hammersten Moved, Carlson Seconded the contract be awarded to Peter Lametti <br />Construction Comrumv- in the amount of $34h.576iBlJ..Rell Call A..ves (5}-Na:ves(O). <br />10 . ~ - - - <br /> <br />Tabulation of I <br />Bids <br /> <br />A letter was read from the City Clerk of St. Paul with which was enclesed a <br />copy approving certain plans and specifications for the Village Sewer Prøject <br />which was adopted by the St. Paul City Council on August 29, 1956. <br /> <br />A letter was read from Twin City Re>.pid Transit ~. requesting the Village <br />approval for the operation of a limitedJfo'1-.....'$'fate Farm Insurance Company <br />on North Snelling frQm the present rout~ ending at Roselawn Avenue to the <br />new location at Highway #36. They wish to b ègin the operation approximately <br />October 1st, on a trial basis for 30 d~s. <br />Hammersten MOved, McGee Seconded permission be granted to operate on a 30 <br />day trial basis to the State Farm Area. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />A letter was read from the State of Minnesota Water Pollution ContrÐl Cœmnission Pwnping <br />stating that the Village plans recently submitted for sewerage pumping station Station <br />in the Village of Roseville are approved, and permit for constructien is granted. <br /> <br />Røbert Gearin submitted an ammendment to Section No.1, Ordinance Ne.216 <br />McGee MÐved Kitts Seconded the ordinance be adopted. <br />Hammersten Moved, Carlson Secended the matter be tabled for ane week. <br />Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nqes (0). <br /> <br />The Attorney submitted a petitiøn that had been referred to him, properly <br />executed by a majori~ of the abutting propert,y owners, requesting the <br />vacation of a portÜm of Runlap Street lying north of Larpenteur Avenue. <br />Kitts Moved, Hammersten Seconded a hearing date Qn the matter be set for <br />October 2, 1956. Roll Call Ayes (5)-N~es (0). <br /> <br />As per a previous request by the Council, the attorney rendered an opinion <br />as to the legality of the rezening of a certain property owned by one <br />Victor Swanson. After examining the records, it is the attorney's opinien <br />that the rezoning was legal. <br />McGee Moved, Carlson Seccmded a copy of the letter be sent to William Reiling, <br />spokesman fjr a group of people who' s opinion was that the rezoning which <br />took place was not legal; also that Mr. Reiling be requested to inform those <br />concerned of the contents of the letter. Roll Call Ayes (5)-N~es (0). <br /> <br />An application was made by Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. for permission <br />to place, construct, and thereafter maintain buried telephone cable en <br />Woodlyn Avenue east of T.H.H51 as shown on the exhibit enclosed with the <br />application. Kitts Moved, Hammersten Seconded the matter be tabled for <br />one week. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />The matter of vacating a portion of Asbury Street South of County :&ead C-2 <br />for a distance of 379.5 was brought up. Hammersten Moved, McGee Seconded <br />the petition pertaining to the matter be accepted and a hearing date be set <br />for October 2, 1956. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />Robert Gearin gave his opinian on the definition of "tentative apprÐvallt <br />in the case of the HamUne Heights Plat. It is the attorney's opinion. <br />that the plat has been approved according to general layout, lots accord- <br />ing w size, and streets according to size, but not the drainage or paving <br />of streets.
