Roll CaJ.l Ayes (J)-Hayes (2)-Carlson and Hammersten opposed. <br /> <br />The plat of Hamline Heights wAD taken up and Ed Bather reported that his inspec- Hamline <br />tion of the plat shows a high-, water table in the area· insufficient drain~e Heights <br />structures and waterways, and the recommendation was that no further develop- <br />ment be permitted at this time. The Clerk was instructed to notify the owner of <br />the plat that final acceptance of the plat will be held up until a plan is submitted <br />which will satisfy the Village in relation to drainage. <br /> <br />.A hear~ was held on the p~oposed rezoning from farm residential to Class A <br />-residentJ.al described legally as follows: <br />Lots 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22~ 23, 24~ 25, 36, 37, 38, & 39 in St. Paul <br />Park Addition and part of lot 20 descrived as follows: <br />The Nt of that part of Lot 26 in St. Paul Park lying East of a line <br />parallel with and distant 1213.1 feet East of theWest line of the <br />NWi of Section 2, Township 29, Range 23. <br /> <br />The sl of that part of Lot 26 in St. Paul Park lying East of a line <br />parallel with and distant 1213.1 feet East of the West line of the <br />NWi of Section 2, Township 29, Range 23. <br /> <br />The N ~ of the S ~ of that part of Lot 26 St. Paul Park lying East of <br />a line .I'1JJ';ll'ling parallel with and distant 1213.1 feet East of the W line <br />of the NWt of-Section 2, Township 29, Range 23. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission recommended that this property be rezoned to Class A <br />-residential because of the stead;y development of this area into residential <br />sites, their values will be consJ.derably more protected by such zoning class- <br />ifications. <br />;Francis Pearso!}6nd Earl Bailey appeared in favor of the rezoning. <br />Hammersten Moved, Carlson Seconded the above deser:ibed property be rezoned <br />from Farm residential to Class A residential. Roll Call Ayes (4)-Nayes (1)- <br />Salverda opposed. <br /> <br />A hearing was held for the proposed rezoning from farm residential to buSiness <br />Tor lots 5 and 6, block 1, Rochat's Addition, located near the southeast corner <br />of Cleveland and County Road liD". <br />The Planning Commission is of the unanimous opinion that the request for <br />'t"ezoning be denied as the rezoning would not be in conformance with the <br />comprehensive plan which has been drawn up by the Planning Consultant. <br />Mrs. Rochat reported that a building has been used there for aany years for <br />~::an egg business~ but has been used for a cabinet shop for about two years <br />~'which she rents out and is her only means of income. She was told the. t the <br />same conditions could continue, but she could not sell the building for business. <br />. Mrs. H. Rosenquist reported that when she was approched with the petition, it <br />was stated that the property would be rented and not sold. <br />:Hr. Ben Mertens said that the rezoning has come up for the purpose of continuing <br />a cabinet shop and that he was pJ:esent at the time the petition was discussed <br />and that no rental or :1B ase entered the conversàtion. <br />Don Charles, operator of the cabinet shop asked if he could continue operating <br />his business there if the property is not rezoned.
