<br />Village of Roseville <br /> <br />Regular meeting of the Village Council Tuesday, October 9, 1956 <br /> <br />8 p.m. <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date with the following members p~esent. <br />Salverda, Carlson, Kitts~ Hammerstenl and McGee. Attorney Robert Gearln and <br />Engineers Ed Bather and Gharles Soutter were also present. <br /> <br />Carlson Moved, McGee Seconded the minutes of the October 2, 1956 meeting be <br />~ accepted as corredted. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />Sal verda Moved, Carlson Seconded the minutes of the continued meeting of <br />September 25 be accepted as presented. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />McGee Moved; Harnmersten Seconded the minutes of the continued meeting of <br />September 2(, be acceptåilpresented. Rmll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />The Clerk read a resolution relative to the vacating of Dunlap Street between <br />the North line of Larpenteur Avwnue and a point 369.89 feet north of the north <br />line of said Larpentenr Avenue, subject to reservation in the Vi¡lage of Rose- <br />ville, its successors and a~;signs of the right to construct, maintain and repair <br />sanitary sewers across, through and under the center forty feet of that portion <br />of Dunlap Street. <br />Hammersten Moved, Kitts Seconded the resolution be adopted as read. <br />The motion was lost for lack of a vote. <br />The following people spoke in opposition to the vacating of that portion of <br />Dunlap Street. <br />Herbert Leier, Mr. Benson, Walter Christensen, Fred Smith, Mr. Quivinen, <br />and Mrs. Worner. <br />Kitts Moved, Harnmersten Seconded the mC.tter be tabled until the Attorney can <br />bring in an opinion at the next ~egular meeting. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes-(0). <br /> <br />The Clerk reported on the cost of street signs for the Village. <br />McGee Moved, Harnmersten Seconded the attorney be instructed to check the V.A. <br />and FHA as "to street sign requirements for developers, then if it is in order, <br />the Attorney be instructed to draw the proper arnmendment to the present street <br />regulations requiring developers to erect street signs~ and also that the Engineer <br />be instructed to draw specifications for the November ( meeting. <br />Roll Cell Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />A bid for hauling Se1-1age from the Sanitary sewer temporarily until the sewer <br />connection is made with St. Paul was received from Austin p. Keller Sanitation- <br />the rate quoted in the bid to be $17.00 per 2000 gallons. <br />McGee Moved" H~ersten Seconded the bid be accepted for ~umping th~ ~ewage w4e~ <br />needed, subject to the discretion of the Engineer. Roll Call Ayes t5J-Nayes \0). <br /> <br />The Clerk read an agreement in relation to a drainage easement to be provided <br />. for in Schmidt's Hamline Heights Addition #2. <br />Hammersten Hoved, Kitts Seconded Vlat the agreerrent be accepted and that the <br />Building Inspector and Engineer see to it that no building permits are granted <br />. antil the prèper amount of fill dirt is placed on the lOVl portions of the <br />addition. Roll Call Ayes (5)-N~es (0). <br /> <br />The engineer reported that he has investigated the Lloyd Magnuson Plat, adjacent <br />to Victoria. and that the proposed lots are well suited for building sites and <br />that there are no drainage problems involved, the only question being on the <br />proposed private driveway servicing the area from a legal aspect. <br />,The Attorney then read from an existing ordinance that the Planning Commission <br />e~n Teeo'!"'!!'!;)!"'"
