36 continues to grow and increase in diversity, it is important we continue to recruit police <br />37 officers with diverse voices, perspectives, and lived experiences. <br />38 <br />39 Budget Implications <br />40 There is minimal financial obligation or risk to the City of Roseville as the grant reimburses <br />41 up to $50k per candidate and there is no agency match requirements. The City will fund <br />42 initial costs associated with two ICPOET Cadets completing the eight-month intensive <br />43 comprehensive law enforcement training curriculum at Hennepin Technical College. <br />44 Candidates will earn a salary while completing training. Upon completion of the grant <br />45 contract, reimbursement for all eligible grant activities will be requested. Once received, the <br />46 grant funds will reimburse internal accounts and other sources. <br />47 <br />48 Staff Recommendations <br />49 Approval was granted December 4, 2023, to apply for the Minnesota Department of Public <br />50 Safety 2024 Intensive Comprehensive Peace Officer Education and Training grant <br />51(Attachment 2).
