Green To Go Ordinance - Resident Survey
Q9 Please add any additional comments about single -use plastic,
Styrofoam, compostable, or recyclable takeout containers in Roseville, or
about this proposed ordinance.
Answered: 32 Skipped: 42
#
RESPONSES
DATE
1
Makes sense to me... the less single use in the world the better!! I'm 76yo and have been
7/16/2024 4:03 PM
recycling since the late 70'sM we would haul our recycling to a drop off about every two
weeks!!
2
I'm waiting for the food scrap pick up (in our weekly trash) to come about. I understand that it's
7/16/2024 12:08 PM
about a year away still.
3
thank you for addressing this problem; please take action
7/13/2024 3:44 PM
4
If the whole state or at least the metro area would use recyclable or compostable containers,
7/5/2024 2:50 PM
the price for those items would be less due to the volume purchased.
5
Thank you, Roseville! Plastic packaging is such a huge issue; the individual can only do so
7/4/2024 5:13 PM
much --we must demand more responsible products and packaging from the
producers/sellers/vendors.
6
If this is such a good idea, why does it have to be mandatory where businesses are compelled
7/2/2024 8:10 PM
to use these products by force?
7
Cups, lids, and straws are majorly problematic. Our neighborhood regularly has plastic litter
7/2/202412:45 PM
from nearby stores and gas stations. We avoid plastic bags at the grocery store, but our
takeout is often bundled in plastic shopping bags. It would be great if this was also subject to
the ordinance. I am interested in getting involved, please email me at
zach.j.sperry@gmail.com.
8
Totally support this initiative, which will reduce waste and micoplastic issues.
7/1/2024 2:40 PM
9
I'd like to see Roseville reduce single -use plastics (e.g. utensils), and make it easier to recycle
6/29/2024 2:49 PM
plastics (e.g. #4). Cant wait for Ramsey County to include us in the compost pickup project!
10
1 support the ordinance.
6/27/2024 10:24 PM
11
1 wish stores that sold things packaged with Styrofoam and other nonrecyclables would take
6/9/2024 9:43 AM
them back, but I guess they would just throw them in the trash, too. Or use those corn
products that are used like Styrofoam. I wish there were more food scrap recycling sites or
maybe near grocery stores. In the summer, a watermelon or a couple of cantaloupes fill up a
food scrap pail pretty quickly, and I need to make almost daily trips to the food scrap recycling
site. I don't use a large pail because they propagate some nasty worms/bugs pretty quickly.
One last thing: an alternative to plastic utensils. So many all over around Rosedale and the
fast food places. Thanks for having this survey!
12
It would be great to have compostable or turn -in -for reuse options for dining out in Roseville. 1
5/23/2024 10:38 AM
am willing to pay a bit more for the greener options!
13
Mostly, people don't know what their food is coming in until they pick it up. I occasionally order
5/23/2024 10:36 AM
to go, but only a fewtimes or less per month since I have a cafeteria where I work.
14
The ordinance should be a state-wide requirement but at this point, I would be proud of
5/9/2024 3:43 PM
Roseville if it imposed this requirement. Vde should not be throwing away containers to just
transport food to our homes. It is anti -environment, wasteful and damages our planet.
15
1 love that this ordinance is being proposed! Please stay strong in your conviction by passing it
4/29/2024 2:48 PM
and then legitimately enforce it!
16
The more we can help train, education, and shift habits to get away from single use plastic, the
4/26/2024 1:55 PM
better. It takes bold steps like this to shift habits and help humans mitigate their impact on the
13 / 14 Page 82 of 97
