Attachment 2: CIP Project/Initiative Summary
Public Works Department

Memo
To: Michelle Pietrick, Finance Director
From: Jesse Freihammer, Public Works Director
cc: Jesse Freihammer, Public Works Director
Date: July 8, 2024
Re: #204 Vac Truck
The proposed 2025 Sanitary Sewer CIP includes $605,000 in funds to replace the existing Vac
Truck. The Vac Truck is used to clean and jet sanitary sewers and lift stations and also is
utilized in water break repairs. It is the primary equipment used to address sewer blockages.
The existing unit was purchased in 2015 but has been problematic and has had numerous
repairs which has taken it out of service. Due to the unreliable nature of the current equipment
and the important nature of the work it provides, staff is recommending the Vac Truck be
replaced. Due to the long lead time to procurement this equipment staff is requesting the
purchase be approved at this time for delivery in April 2025.
Staff requested quotes from vendors. The following quotes were received for just the
equipment.
Flexible Pipe Tools & Equipment Î State Contract #0929201 - $602,216.43
Trade In Value of $165,000.00
Total Cost of $437,216.43
Vactor Î $595,894
Trade In Value of $150,000
Total Cost of $445,894.00
Request
Approve purchase of Vac Truck from Pipe Tools & Equipment for $602,216.43 with a trade
in value of $165,000.00 for a total cost of $437,216.43.

Qbhf!53!pg!88
