Attachment 1 Memo To: Pat Trudgeon, City Manager From: Michelle Pietrick, Finance Director and Pam Ryan, License Center Manager Re: 2025 Staffing Changes Pat, For the 2025 budget, the License Center is requesting to increase three of the current ¾ time representatives to full time and adding one ¾ time position. The passport office would have 2 of the current ¾ staff move to full time and the additional requested ¾ position would be on the passport side. Staffing would go from 4 full time and 4 ¾ positions to 6 full time and 3 ¾ positions. On the License Center side, we would move one ¾ position to full time. Staffing would go from 9 full time and 4 ¾ positions to 10 full time and 3 ¾ positions. We have seen a growth in the demand for our passport business and auto dealership business. The passport office staff are shared between passport and auto dealerships. We added one more workstation for accepting passport applications and by adding the staff requested, we should be able to complete 15 or more applications in a day with that workstation fully staffed. By adding the ¾ positions, we should have the capacity to pursue other auto dealerships for their business. For the License Center side, the increase to full time would allow for more consistent staffing of our 10 workstations, which would allow us to assist more customers. We will also be able to expand the hours we schedule for knowledge testing for driver’s licenses. With the closure of the Maplewood License Center, we have seen an increase in the number of customers coming to our facility. Had we known they were going to close, we would have requested an increase in staffing for the 2024 budget. The requested staff changes do not impact the property tax levy and they will increase our revenues by our ability to assist more customers. Page 1 of 1 Qbhf!247!pg!417
