Attachment 1 <br />In April the previous Recreation SupervisorforCedarholm <br />lefttheCity.At that time,the Recreation Supervisor for Facilitieswas appointedto fill the Cedarholm <br />Recreation Supervisor position in a lateral move. <br />The new Cedarholm Recreation Manager position would directlysupervisethe Recreation Supervisor for <br />Facilities.With this change theRecreationSupervisorforFacilitieswould be able to handlesomeofthe <br />building rentals at Cedarholm to free up the new Manager position to better support the new needs of the <br />Cedarholm year-round operation.Additionally, this would allow for greater continuity between City rental <br />experience. <br />Succession Planning: Creation of the Cedarholm Recreation Manager position will allow for a <br />smoother transition when the long-tenured Cedarholm Superintendenteventually retires. The current <br />staffing structure would leave a concerning leadership and experience vacuum at Cedarholmwhenthe <br />Superintendentretires.ThepromotionofthispositiontoManagerwouldenablethe City tohavea <br />stronger,moreexperiencedteaminplacetomanagethefacilitywhilethesearchandonboarding of a <br />new Superintendent is undertaken. <br />OUTCOMES <br />ThepromotionoftheRecreationSupervisorforCedarholm(Grade13)toManager(Grade15) <br />will provide the following outcomes: <br />GreateralignmentbetweenCityrentalfacilities(parkbuildings,picnicshelters,and <br />Cedarholm gathering spaces would operate more seamlessly). <br />GreatercapacityatCedarholm toaccountforthegrowththathasoccurredinyear-round, <br />non-golf recreation that occurs there. <br />ContinuityinboththeCedarholmoperationsandrecreationalfacilities(parkbuildingand <br />picnic shelters) operation. <br />Anopportunityfora high-performingstaffmembertoutilizetheirskilltohelpdevelop <br />newer staff. <br />MoredepthinoperationalstaffatCedarholmto betterprepareforfuturestaffing <br />transitions. <br />Qbhf!24:!pg!417 <br /> <br />
