RCA Attachment 2
Bryan Lloyd
From:dee Saunby
Sent:Wednesday, September 4, 2024 4:52 PM
To:RV Planning
Subject:Re: rezoning of church property.
You don't often get email from darlaleen@gmail.com. Learn why this is important
Caution: This email originated outside our organization; please use caution.
DearBryan Lloyd,
I am contacting you regarding the zoning of the church property. First of all before the board decides to rezone
this property, I hope the board will actually look at the property. There is a runoff pond next to the property in
question and from what church leaders claim the property to be sold will be within 10 feet of this pond. The
pond bottom is filled with garbage that has accumulated for about 25 years. The area is overgrown. There are
trees now blocking where the runoff is supposed to come into the pond. There are trees and limbs in the pond
and the pond is a dark green color. Under the deep matting of tree leaves there is garbage. My husband and I
used to clean this garbage out but have not done it for a number of years now. We stopped cleaning the area as
it is so invested with different insects we no longer wanted to be near it. You can see insect swarms in and
around the pond. I believe this area is polluted and it needs to be checked before anything is done. I have
complained and so have others but nothing has been done.
Not all that long ago County Road C2 was opened up and caused the values of the properties on C2 to fall by
20%. I believe anything other than a regular house or duplex will again cause these same houses to fall more in
value. The church's literature indicates there will be 2 to 3 units on this property. I do not believe the property
is big enough for this.
If an apartment building is built it will mean some of us will have an apartment building as a backyard
neighbor. I am sure you could imagine having an apartment building next to your home. I don't believe
anyone would want it.
Lastly, when County Road C2 was opened the people on C2 did not want it. Many people showed up at the
board meeting. It made no difference what we wanted. They passed it. I talked with neighbors and asked if
they planned to communicate or go to the city hall meeting. The answer was no. The reason is because they
did not believe it would matter. I ask that the board does not change the zoning or if they do only allow one unit
or a duplex on this parcel.
Thank you,
Darlene Saunby
1
Qbhf!3:!pg!345
