<br /> <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 10/7/2024 <br />Item No.: 7.c. <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br /> <br /> <br />Item Description: Receive 2024 Recycling Service Proposals <br />1 <br />2 Background <br />3 At their July 22, 2024 meeting, the Roseville City Council approved the release of a <br />4 Request for Proposals (RFP) for Recycling Services beginning July 1, 2025. Staff released <br />5 the RFP on August 2, 2024, and accepted four proposals on September 11, 2024. <br />6 <br />7 As a review, in 2021, the City entered into an Agreement for Comprehensive Recycling <br />8 Services with the Neighborhood Recycling Corporation, d.b.a. Eureka Recycling, for the <br />9 term of January 1, 2022 – June 31, 2025. <br />10 <br />11 City staff updated the Request for Proposals (RFP) used in 2021 in order to solicit <br />12 proposals for recycling services beyond 2025. As part of this process, we have made <br />13 presentations to the Public Works, Environment and Transportation Commission (PWETC) <br />14 and City Council, solicited their feedback, and have modified the RFP per their direction. <br />15 <br />16 The City received four proposals for recycling services: <br />17 Ace Solid Waste <br />18 Eureka Recycling <br />19 Walters Refuse & Recycling <br />20 Waste Management <br />21 <br />22 The four contractors that submitted proposals currently provide curbside trash and/or <br />23 recycling services to communities in the Twin Cities metropolitan area and are all very <br />24 capable of providing the service to the City of Roseville.
