March 7, 2023
Candace Daley
435 Judith Avenue
Roseville, MN 55113
RE:Water Leak Repair
Dear Property Owner:
As Ted Fish our Utility Superintendent made you aware two weeks ago, your water service serving
your property is leaking and needs to be repaired. The leak is causing icing issues which is a safety
concern which is why this service needs to be repaired immediately. Further, the water leaking is
costlyto the City as we purchase our water from St Paul Regional Water.
Per City Code 801.12 LEAKS, you are responsible for the repair.
801.12: REPAIR OF LEAKS: It shall be the responsibility of the consumer or owner to
maintain the service pipe from the water main into the house or building. In case of failure
upon the part of any consumer or owner to repair any leak occurring in such pipe within
twenty four (24) hours after verbal or written notice, the water will be shut off and will not be
turned on until the leak is repaired. When the waste of water is great, or when damage is likely
to result from the leak, the water may be turned offimmediately pending repairs. A water
shutoff charge shall be made in an amount set by City Council resolution. (Ord. 530, 3-20-
1967; 1995 Code) (Ord 1590, 10-12-2020)
The City had heard from you last week that you are working with a plumber but have not received a
confirmation of when the repair will take place. Due to the safety concerns, the City is giving you until
3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 to schedule the repair. If the repair is not scheduled, City
staff will shut off the water and hire a contractor to repair the leaklater this week. All costs associated
with the repair will be assessed to the property.
Please provide us a record that you have addressed or are in the process of addressing the issue by 3:00
p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. We look forward to hearing from you in dealing with this water
leak.
Should you have any questions about what you need to do to correct this issue, please contact Utilities
Superintendent Ted Fish at 651-792-7053 or contact me. I can be reached at 651-792-7041 or
jesse.freihammer@cityofroseville.com.
Sincerely,
Jesse Freihammer, PE
Public Works Director
Enclosure
2660 Civic Center Drive Roseville, Minnesota 55113
651-792-ROSE TDD 651-792-7399 www.cityofroseville.com
Qbhf!61!pg!745
