The Commission also discussed parking, liability,and potential amenity options for Rosebrook <br />Park. Commissioner J. Arneson suggested using angled parking to increase the number of <br />available spaces. Staff responded that they would research the feasibility of this option. <br /> <br />Chair Matts-Benson asked about the locations of other splash pads in surrounding communities. <br />Staff responded that they would compile a list of splash pads within the vicinity of Roseville. <br />She also suggested exploring splash pad water features that would accommodate youth of all <br />ages. <br /> <br />The Commission discussed potential options to address the concerns of community members <br />who preferred retaining a wading pool. Staff explained that if the wading pool were to be <br />replaced, it would most likely need to remain in its current location to utilize the existing pool <br />system infrastructure. <br /> <br />Commissioner J. Arneson suggested the possibility of adding overflow gravel parking. <br /> <br />Commissioners Penny, Kooistra, Matts-Benson, Beckmann, and J. Arneson expressed support <br />for the splash pad option, citing its greater equity, safety, cost-effectiveness, and longer lifespan. <br /> <br />Commissioner A. Arneson suggested displaying historical photos and information about the <br />wading pool inside the park building as a tribute to the amenity if it is replaced with a splash pad. <br /> <br />Commissioner J. Arneson suggested the possibility of offering tribute bricks for purchase at the <br />park. <br /> <br />Commissioner Brown recommended that, if the splash pad option is chosen, significant <br />marketing efforts be made to inform the community about the change and the reasons behind it. <br /> <br />Commissioner J. Arneson moved to recommend to the City Council the replacement of <br />the wading pool at Rosebrook Park with a splash pad. Commissioner Penny <br />seconded. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: A.
