the December meeting, the Commission decided to delay formal action on the draft goals, <br />allowing commissioners additional time to review the document and propose potential updates. <br />The current draft of the Commission’s goals was distributed for further review. <br />Vice-Chair Beckman moved to adopt the Parks and Recreation Commission Goals as <br />written. Commissioner J. Arneson seconded. <br /> <br />Commissioner Kooistra requested that his name be added to the following goals: the Natural <br />Resources Goals, focusing on green spaces, and the Engagement, Connection, and Access Goals, <br />focusing on volunteerism. Commissioners Penny and A. Arneson also requested to be added to <br />the Engagement, Connection, and Access Goals, focusing on volunteerism. Chair Matts-Benson <br />requested that her name be added to the Visioning and Planning Goal, focusing on receiving <br />updates and providing feedback on Parks and Recreation items as they pertain to the Campus <br />Master Plan Project. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: A. OTHER BUSINESS <br />a) DEPARTMENTAL UPDATES <br /> The Holiday Craft Fair at Roseville City Hall took place on Saturday, December 7, 2024 <br />(10:00 am – 4:00 pm) and Sunday, December 8, 2024 (12:00 pm – 4:00 pm). Over 2,400 <br />visitors attended the two-day event. <br /> Cookies and Cocoa with Kris Kringle was held at the Cedarholm Community Building on <br />Saturday, December 7, from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, with over 240 kids and adults attending. <br /> The New Year’s Eve on Ice event at the Skating Center had 2,300 community members <br />participate. <br /> Outdoor skating rinks opened but unfortunately had to close due to weather. <br /> Open Mic Night at Cedarholm Community Building on Thursday, January 16 at 7:00pm. <br /> The upcoming Candlelight Snowshoe event at Cedarholm Golf Course will be weather- <br />dependent. <br /> The MLK Day volunteer event on Monday, January 20, will involve seeding at Reservoir <br />Woods and Villa Park, with brunch to follow at the Cedarholm Community Building. <br /> Interviews for a full-time position supporting 50% Forestry and 50% Natural Resources will <br />soon take place. This position will replace the current 50% Forestry role. <br /> The City Council will discuss the Campus Master Plan at their meeting on Monday, January <br />13. <br /> The proposal for a new recreation management software vendor will be going to the City <br />Council in late January or early February. <br />5 <br /> <br /> <br />
