35 Budget Implications
36 There are no budget impacts associated with this resolution.
37
38 Staff Recommendations
39 Staff recommends revoking Resolution 11964, which suspended our mowing ordinance
40 during May, and passing a new resolution promoting natural landscaping. Most beneficial
41 flowering plants in turf don’t grow above the 8” limit set in our City Code, and our policies
42 have provisions for restorative and native plantings. Staff additionally recommends that
43 resident projects to replace turf with either native plantings, bee lawns, or other turf
44 alternatives such as fescues, should fall within the naturalized landscaping policy.
45
46 Requested Council Action
47 Approve resolution which revokes Resolution 11964 and further reaffirms Roseville’s
48 commitment to being a pollinator-friendly community.
49
50
Noelle Bakken, Sustainability Specialist
Prepared by:
1.
