<br /> <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 2/10/2025 <br />Item No.: 7.d. <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br /> <br /> <br />Item Description: Draft Request for Proposals for Architectural Services <br />1 <br />2 Background <br />3 At the January 13, 2025 City Council meeting, Council discussed next steps for the <br />4 Maintenance Operations Center (MOC) and the License & Passport Center/Dance Studio <br />5(LPCDS) project. One of the next steps to discuss was how to address the LPCDS. Council <br />6 directed staff to put together a Request For Proposals to hire an architect to look into <br />7 various options for the LPCDS. The overall goal of this study would be to provide updated <br />8 cost estimates and options for Council, to determine if there is a less costly option for the <br />9 LPCDS than the current plan identified in the Civic Campus Pre-Design Study (CCPDS). <br />10 <br />11 City staff drafted a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Civic Campus Master Plan Update – <br />12 License/Passport Center & Dance Studio Options (Attachment 1). Major tasks in the RFP <br />13 include the following: <br />14 Phase 1 <br />15 o Provide an updated cost estimate of the proposed LPCDS which is proposed <br />16 in the CCPDS. <br />17 o Provide an updated cost estimate of Maintenance Operations Center as <br />18 proposed in the CCPDS. <br />19 o Provide a cost estimate for a single story LPCDC instead of the two-story <br />20 plan. <br />21 o Provide feasibility options to reuse portions of the existing Maintenance <br />22 Facility (MF) for LPCDS use. <br />23 Provide layouts and cost estimates. The report should include pros and <br />24 cons of this option compared to the CCPDS option. The report should <br />25 also provide information on how this option would affect the overall <br />26 phasing of the overall project. <br />27 o Provide feasibility options to reuse portions of existing MF for other uses such <br />28 as office space, restaurant, or event venue use. <br />29 Provide layouts and cost estimates. The report should include pros and <br />30 cons of this option compared to the CCPDS option.
