1 Equity and Inclusion Commission <br />2 Meeting Minutes <br />3 January 15, 2025 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 Commissioners Present: Amanda LaGrange, Gabrielle Filip-Crawford, Prajwal Vemireddy <br />7 <br />8 Youth Commissioners:Gwen Goedken, Anica Barze <br />9 <br />10 Commissioners Absent:Alfred Chan (excused) <br />11 <br />12 Staff Present:Equity and Inclusion Manager Antonio Montez <br />13 <br />14 Call to Order/Roll Call <br />15 <br />16 The Equity and InclusionCommission(EIC) meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m. <br />17 <br />18 Receive Public Comment <br />19 <br />20 None. <br />21 <br />22 Commissioner Filip-Crawford moved, and Commissioner LaGrange seconded a motion to close <br />23 the public comment period. The motion passed unanimously. <br />24 <br />25 Business Items <br />26 <br />27 a. Approval of Meeting Minutes <br />28 <br />29 CommissionerLaGrange moved, and Commissioner Goedken seconded a motion to approve the <br />30 December 18, 2024, Equity and Inclusion Commission meeting minutes as presented. The <br />31 motionpassed unanimously. <br />32 <br />33 b. Review Equity and Inclusion Toolkit <br />34 <br />35 Equity and Inclusion Manager Montezexplained the purpose of the Equity and Inclusion <br />36 Toolkit, which helps decision-makers evaluate ideas and solutions with an inclusive equity <br />37 perspective. He indicated the toolkit was designed to ensure that decisions are considered by the <br />38 entire community, especially those who may not be at the decision-making table. The toolkit is a <br />39 public document intended to provide accountability and transparency in decision-making. <br />40 <br />41 The Commission discussed the toolkit’s background and its current usage. <br />42 <br />43 Mr. Montez highlighted its evolution from a lengthy document to a more streamlined version. He <br />44 outlined the questions in the Equity and Inclusion Toolkit, including desired outcomes, who will <br />45 benefit or be burdened, and potential unintended consequences. <br />46 <br />Qbhf!22:!pg!354 <br /> <br />
