Process to object to the assessmentBy written objection signed by the property owner <br />prior to or at the public meeting. <br />In order to preserve your right to appeal an <br />assessment to district court, the property owner <br />must file a written objection prior to or at the <br />public hearing. <br />Process to appeal the assessment You may appeal your assessment pursuant to <br />Minnesota Statute Section 429.018. In order to do <br />so, after having filed a written objection, you must <br />serve notice of appeal on the Mayor or City <br />managerwithin thirty (30) days of adoption of the <br />assessment. <br />Within ten (10) days after serving notice on the <br />Mayor or City Manager, you must file notice with <br />district court. <br />Deferment of assessment The City Council has adopted a policy for <br />hardship assessment deferral for seniors or <br />disabled provisionsunder the provisions of <br />Minnesota Statute Section 435.193-435.195.
